It's incredible that this particular equation isn't part of the math that is done at some companies. It is not a new concept, just an "unexciting" concept when businesses yearn for new business. If they do not heed the fact that their most valuable asset is their existing workforce and their existing client base, then they will perpetually be reinventing both year in and year out, and it's rather like paying very high interest on credit card debt.
